Christmas Classics

Thanks to everyone who came along to the MC2 table at BICS, it was a great weekend. See you all there next year.

A while back I coloured and lettered a 24 page Sherlock Holmes adaptation by Rich Rainey and Hunt Emerson, which is one of the many classic seasonal tales featured  in Graphic Classics' new Christmas Classics book. It's my first real attempt at colouring, not to mention my first proper professional comics work, but I'm pleased with the results. If you wish to check it out for yourself, the book is available to order now from Forbidden Planet amongst other places.

BICS 2010

Yep, it's the annual BICS (British International Comics Show) weekend in Birmingham. The MC2 will have a large presence there this year, with the launch of a free 12 page sampler Strip Tease, which includes Eva Nova. As well as debuting Eva Nova #1, I shall be selling Outcastes for bargain prices, in addition to carrying other True Stories titles. Drop in, say hello, and pick up some cool comics.

Outcastes #1 reprint

Outcastes #1 has completely sold out, and is being reprinted in time for the BICS 2010 convention this October. So for this second printing, I've taken the opportunity to re-create the original cover more in keeping with the others in the series. Winter and Summer have been re-drawn with new background detail and overall lighter colouring. There's also a new back cover, previewed on your right.

As usual I'll be selling Outcastes and Eva Nova on the MC2 table at BICS. More details closer to the date. Hope to see you there.

Eva Nova #1

Hot on the heels of the conclusion of Eva's third adventure, comes the very first Eva Nova collection. A strictly limited A5 24 page edition with colour covers, Eva Nova #1 collects the first 3 strips plus bonus material and sketches. A shiny new copy can be yours now for the princely sum of £1.50.

Eva Nova 3: Revolutionary

Eva Nova's back, and she's... chirpy as ever. This time she leads a filthy revolt against those nice shiny communist 'mechanics'. Now with added giant robots! Read it here or on Facebook.
In other news, Outcastes #8 is out now, and the preliminary cover to #9 can be viewed here.
The Dark Weather collection is coming along, I'm hoping to have it cleaned up, re-lettered and ready to go by the end of July. More news on  pre-ordering and pricing closer to the date.

Outcastes #8 finished

Outcastes #8 is now at the printers, and should be released later this month. So now's the perfect time to pre-order while it's still on special offer at just £1.75. In this momentous action packed issue, old friends and enemies are encountered and the true threat revealed... Check out the preview pages here.

Next up from me will be the 3rd chapter in Eva Nova's ongoing adventures, to be serialised here shortly. I'm also in the process of restoring Dark Weather from the originals, soon to be the first of my old series to be collected in trade format. I'm looking towards a release in the next couple of months, more details on price and pre-orders as and when.

Revenant & Traveller

If you can imagine a time before I drew Outcastes, I was becoming somewhat of a small press odd job man. A few years back I was asked to contribute a couple of very short stories to horror tinged anthologies, Scar's Dead By Dawn and MC2's Ghosts respectively. So for your reading pleasure, presenting the ghostly tales of Revenant and Traveller in full. It's like Halloween's come six months early.

Getting to know you...

The eagle eyed among you may have noticed that the website's undergone a minor facelift. Clicking on the True Stories banner above (or where it says Read More) will now show you an overview of my main titles and a little bit about me. The back link will return you to the latest news, or you can use the snazzy new drop down box at the top left to filter the news.

Also the individual issue pages have been streamlined, making it easier to browse previews and place orders. I've also made Outcastes available to download in PDF format for just 50p an issue. Look for many more of my titles to be added there soon.

Hope you like the changes. More strips and previews of Outcastes #8 are on their way.

Outcastes #8 cover

Uncharacteristically for a train themed issue, Outcastes #7 has arrived ahead of schedule, so go grab yourselves a copy.

You can now pre-order the underway Outcastes #8 for a knock down £1.75 while gawking at the cover and blurb here.

For those few who like to download their Outcastes, never fear as I'll be adding a place where you can grab each issue in PDF format for a pittance very shortly.

Outcastes #7 - train now arriving

PhotobucketOutcastes #7 went to the printers this week, and hopefully should see release around the end of this month. In the less great news department, increased printing costs sadly means a slightly increased cover price of £2.25. 4 issue subscriptions have risen by 50p to the still bargain price of £7. But in the spirit of giving, you'll still be able to pre-order Outcastes over the next few weeks from this very website for the old price of £1.75. Hurry while stocks last and all that.

As ever I've added previews of issue 7 for your perusal to the Preview page and Myebook. All aboard...
